In 3Q 2021, global venture climbs to new record, at USD 152bln, a growth by 105% y-o-y. The most active investors were Seqouia Capital China, followed by Tiger and Softbank, according to CB Insights latest report.
In Europe the most active investors are Index Ventures (UK), Speedinvest (Austria) and Partech Partners (France). Sweden’s leading investor is ALMI Invest (#7 in Europe). In the 3Q, CB Insights have registered 1590 deals in Europe, equal to USD 24.2bln in injected capital.
The share of early stage deals in Europe has declined reaching 68% YTD 2021.
The amount of Unicorns have also grown, reaching 841 by 3Q. Only in the third quarter, 143 new unicorns where added to the list – which is the second highest birth rate ever.
